The 1st Kids Clothing Closet Delivery!

The day was finally here!  Our very first delivery for our Kids Clothing Closet!  We were going to the Volunteers of America shelter here in Reno to hand out the clothing that had been generously donated to us by all the giving people in our community. 

Studio 33 designed our bright orange shirts that we got to wear for the first time to our first delivery!

Christy stopped to get us all donuts at Jelly Donut on Oddie Blvd.  She had on her shirt at the time and was telling the clerk about our project and some very generous man in line heard her and anonymously bought the donuts for us!!!  So thank you whomever you are!!

We left the Kersch house and headed to the shelter, where we set up for the delivery.

It was time to start!

Ashlee's Toy Closet (http://ashleestoycloset.org/), an awesome charity start by a girl named Ashlee and her mom (which has been featured on Oprah and other national TV shows) came to help and gave out toys to the kids, which really brought a lot of smiles to their faces!  We were so honored to have them help us out!

It was wonderful to see how excited the kids were to get their clothing, shoes, and toys, and to see how grateful their parents were as well.  We look forward to our next delivery and being able to help out those most in need in our local community!

Final Day to prepare for Kids Clothing Closet

Friday is the last day to get all our clothing ready for our first delivery!  We will be at the Kersch garage from 1PM until the evening, sorting, folding, bagging and getting all the final steps ready. If you are able to come help us out, please let us know!

Spaghetti Dinner to be Held @ O'Brien Middle School!!

We are so excited to announce that we have O'Brien Middle School for our Spaghetti Dinner!!  This means we can invite more people to join us, and we are going to have a raffle as well!  We already have great items donated, like Mia Bella candles!

We look forward to this event and raising money for our Relay for Life team!!

Relay for Life Fundraiser

Project 33 will be hosting a Spaghetti dinner on April 9th at 6 PM.


Project 33 Volunteers/Relay for Life Team Members will be asked to provide the meal and invite 3 families that are not on the Relay Team to join us for a night of Spaghetti and fun. Each Family that comes will be asked to pay $4 per person. All proceeds will be go directly to our Relay For Life Team.

If you know of a space to use for this (either your home or a hall or community center that will donate the space), please contact us ASAP at the email link on the side.  And don't forget to sign up for our Relay for Life team!!

First Delivery Fast Approaching

March 20th, 2010 will be Project 33's Kids Clothing Closet's first official distribution of clothing to homeless children. We are in desperate need of more clothing and books for this event. Please forward this on to anyone who may have donations. All donations are needed by March 19th at 11am.

• All clothing sizes 0 months - 12 years are needed, but mostly girls and boys sizes 8-12.
• All children's shoes are in great need.
• All children's picture, board, and chapter books will also be greatly appreciated.

Partnering with Ashley's Toy Closet!

We are so excited to have partnered up with Ashley's Toy Closet who will be joining us at our first distributions on March 20th at the VofA Shelter. They will be bring toys to give out to the homeless children as we hand out the clothing we have collected. Currently, we have 22 large bins full of clothing, but still need boy/girl sizes 8-12, infant 0-24m, girls 2t and 3t, and children’s shoes of all sizes. We will, however, gladly take any and all donations!

We will also be including a book with each bag of clothes we give out so we have started collecting very gently used children’s books as well.
