Our first Cadet year was a success! We started the year in August, our first event being a scavenger hunt at Rancho San Rafael. We did a lot of other fun outings throughout the year: Veteran's Day Parade, singing carols at The Seasons, sugar skulls at the Museum of Art, touring the State Capital and receiving an award, and more! We all look forward to the next year, when we hope to kick it off with a family camp only an hour away (if you are interested attending with us, please check out info here, we would love for you to join us!).
To end our year, we had a BBQ at my house, followed by stargazing at a local park. Everyone really helped chip in for our BBQ, and the kids had a lot of fun on the new trampoline!
Then we headed over to the park. Jim Fahey from the
Astronomical Society of Nevada was very kind to come out for us and bring his awesome telescope! A huge thanks to Jim for doing this! We got to see Saturn! That was so cool! And the craters on the moon were so awesome, too! The kids also loved getting to be out late at the park!
Thanks to all the families who helped make our first year a success, always willing to lend a hand and do what needed to be done. Also, a fond farewell to the Greene Family, who are moving away. We will miss you so much!
